Jim Prentice was interviewed on CBC's Search Engine about Bill C-61. He sounds unsure of his own legislation, and in some cases is purposely misleading about the amount of the penalty for circumventing a digital lock.

Then he hangs up on the interviewer with a flimsy excuse.

It's online, so you can have a listen. It's entertaining, if a bit pathetic (and not too long - he only lasts 10 minutes or so).

Huh. I was just about to reply to your last entry with a link to this story, but it appears you are much faster than I gave you credit.

Do you think this bill will actually make it through? I mean, how can it? Even people who don't know much about this kind of thing are scratching their heads, wondering why the Tories are selling us out so transparently.

Something that has been said by a number of people is that the people that this bill pisses off the most are young, white males...exactly the voter "base" for the Conservative party. I'm hoping that they let it die.

Then again, the Liberals let C-10 pass, and that's nearly as bad as C-61.
