Unnecessary, consumer-screwing, DMCA-like copyright reform is coming to Canada. The Notice Paper for next week includes the following entry:
December 7, 2007 — The Minister of Industry — Bill entitled "An Act to amend the Copyright Act“.
If you haven't already, please consider reading what Michael Geist has been posting about what's expected from the proposed legislation. According to Geist, next Tuesday is supposed to be the big day.

Contact your MP if you don't want to see this reform rushed through Parliament without any public consultation, nor without having the Industry Minister make himself available to answer questions about the proposed legislation.

Personally, I would like to be able to get in and out of my own garage as I please, thank you.

I want my government, which has recently defended whistleblowers in the public sector, not allow whistleblowers in the private sectore, particularly security researchers, to be threatened by DMCA-enabled lawsuits.
