Plus, the ad uses "On your side" as the tag line. Makes me think immediately of those "On Your Side" segments they do on This Hour has 22 Minutes (if you have no idea what i'm talking about, you can probably view some online on their website).
I find that he looks like a creepy version of Mister Rogers.
You'd think with all the money that the Conservatives are raking in that they could afford to airbrush his smile just a little to make it look more natural.
