My first paper was submitted yesterday. Talking to most other people in the class (with English, History or Anthropology backgrounds) made it seem like I spent far too much time on it. However, one other person had as much trouble as me - turns out that she's also from the "hard sciences" and, like me, isn't used to cranking out a paper in record time. Regardless of the grade I get (so long as it's over 75%!), I'm very happy with what I submitted.
I'm now typing up my topic paper on "Leadership" for my management class. This one is a little bit longer but I helped myself by spending a lot of time last week at the Business Library on campus, copying articles from journals (mostly Harvard Business Review).
In other news, fresh from firing Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission head Linda Keen, it is now being reported that PM Harper has now fired the National Science Advisor to the government, Dr. Arthur J. Carty. I can see how Dr. Carty's policy of open information sharing wouldn't go down well with Harper's if-you're-not-the-PM-button-your-yap policy.
Nothing like getting rid of those pesky, questioning people to make Canadians feel nice and safe again. Bravo.
