"Punish Pirates, Not Families"

I love the title of this letter from Ben Hazzard to his MP about Bill C-61.

My wife and 2 year old son are driving from our home in Port Lambton to our family cottage in the Bruce Pennisula. To occupy our son on the 5 hour drive, I transfer his favourite Veggie Tales DVD onto an iPod for him to watch. Unfortunately, now I can be charged $20 000 and a possible prison sentence for this act under this proposed legislation.

Six Months of Preparation Obviously Wasn't Enough

Jim Prentice was interviewed on CBC's Search Engine about Bill C-61. He sounds unsure of his own legislation, and in some cases is purposely misleading about the amount of the penalty for circumventing a digital lock.

Then he hangs up on the interviewer with a flimsy excuse.

It's online, so you can have a listen. It's entertaining, if a bit pathetic (and not too long - he only lasts 10 minutes or so).
