"Consumers may lose digital content they have paid for" -- Vancouver Sun

It's a pretty comprehensive article about the problems we could face.

"Instead, the law could end up making it illegal for anyone to bypass security on material they already own -- either to transfer music from a copy-protected CD to a computer or music player, crack a region-coded DVD or video game from Europe or Asia to play on their Canadian DVD player or console, or to copy portions of electronic books."

In short, fair dealing rights (i.e., being allowed to make personal copies) will be obliterated.

I have been an insomniac since last Wednesday. I finally managed to get a decent amount of sleep last night, just in time for my long drive back to London this afternoon. Until today, I have been a wreck.

I have a 30-minute presentation in class on Tuesday, which I believe to be the cause. I'm going out on a bit of a limb for this one and I'm not sure if the prof will like the direction I'm taking. If I can get through that day alive, I'll be home by 10pm and then I'm going to reward myself by watching the replay of Spain v Russia in Euro 2008.

On Saturday, The Missus took me out to El Meson, a Spanish and Portuguese restaurant in Vanier. We had some fantastic paella and I had quite a bit of sangria.
