I went running outside yesterday for 20 minutes. I ran to the gym last week but that takes less than 8 minutes each way. This time I went all out, with a few short sprints thrown in. I made sure not to turn too sharply on my "bad" knee, but it took everything else that I threw at it.

My legs feel very, very stable. The muscles in my "bad" leg have pretty much completely recovered and are about the same size and strength as my "good" leg. Both of my legs feel stronger than they have ever been in my life, and my quads and hamstrings feel rock solid (and they look bigger than ever before, too!).

In the meantime, it's a busy week. Four assignements due in four days. Thankfully I have been working like crazy since Friday and I have managed to get far enough ahead to make this a relatively relaxing week. 'Cause after this one, there's only one left!

Oh, and Unshelved got it right this weekend. I'll wait for donuts.

I have met a number of people who biked across Canada. It's something that I had always considered doing, someday, but the reality is that the time for doing something like that is past; I probably won't be able to do it in my lifetime. However, I recently considered making a bike trip from my temporary home in London, Ontario to my real home in Ottawa. I looked up the route on the Ontario section of the Trans Canada Trail and was disappointed to see that it's very disjointed. In Ottawa, the Trail only extends a bit to the West of the city before completely dying out.

Quebec's Route Verte is getting better reviews. It was just named the best bike path system in the world and it looks like I could make it pretty easily from Ottawa to Montreal or Quebec City.

Anyone up for a path-trip in August?
